Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, has praised Ademola Lookman for showcasing wisdom beyond his age. This comes after Lookman won the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award and used the platform to promote Nigeria and the Yoruba language.
Omokri contrasted Lookman’s behavior with that of Davido and Kemi Badenoch, who have both made negative comments about Nigeria. Davido advised black Americans against relocating to Nigeria due to economic woes, while Badenoch described Nigeria as “a very poor country” where police rob citizens.
Omokri noted that it’s ironic that a British politician, Albie Amankona, had to correct Badenoch’s narrative and highlight Nigeria as one of the fastest-growing economies in Africa. He concluded that Lookman’s actions demonstrate that wisdom is not determined by age, as the 27-year-old footballer has shown more wisdom than Davido, 32, and Badenoch, 44.
