Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president, has denied death rumors that have been going around on social media and stated that he is still alive.
He expressed amazement and disappointment over the extremely distressing reports, revealing that he recently woke up to false rumors of his death circulating on social media.
Speaking during the Old-Garage-Oke-Fia-Lameco road’s commissioning by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Obasanjo made this point.
Speaking in Yoruba, Obasanjo questioned the reasons behind such damaging rumors in his statements, stating, “I heard the rumor that I was dead.” I came upon it on social media. I promptly informed my kids and family that it was untrue and that I was still alive. God keeps me alive against the wishes of those who want me dead.
“What would make someone want me dead? Such people will not be able to avoid catastrophe themselves.
Not only is this type of rumor unsettling, but it also demonstrates how seriously some individuals abuse technology. It is not acceptable.
