Nigerian activist and social media influencer, VeryDarkMan, has brought to light a shocking inheritance scandal involving Access Bank and a disputed N500 million fortune.
The case revolves around the late Mr. Edongesi Edit Hour, who passed away on April 17, 2019. Before his death, Mr. Edongesi had informed his sister, Basi Edit Hour, about his substantial financial assets in several Nigerian banks, including GT Bank, Keystone Bank, and Access Bank.
VeryDarkMan revealed that Basi was able to access funds from GT Bank and Keystone Bank after obtaining a Letter of Administration from the Kaduna High Court. However, the main issue lies with the N500 million allegedly held in Access Bank.
According to VeryDarkMan, Access Bank initially denied that the deceased had an account with them. Despite the Central Bank of Nigeria confirming the accounts linked to Mr. Edongesi’s BVN, Access Bank allegedly provided incomplete records and failed to furnish a full account statement.
VeryDarkMan claims that Access Bank stated the account had been inactive since its opening in 2016, with a minimal balance of 54 Kobo. He argues that the lack of records from 2016 to 2020 raises suspicions of potential misconduct.
VeryDarkMan cautioned his followers to be vigilant and monitor their Access Bank accounts closely. He emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the allegations, stating that the future and generations of Nigerians may depend on it.
