A man has filed a N200 million lawsuit against a female lawyer, Ms. Amaka Udeh, for recording and posting a video of him asking for her phone number without his consent.
Ms. Udeh had shared the video on her social media account, showing the man approaching her in court. In response, the man is now seeking a retraction, an apology, and compensation for the unauthorized recording and its publication.
A media outlet reported: “The young female lawyer, Ms. Amaka Udeh, who recorded the man asking for her number and shared it on social media without his permission, is now facing a N200 million lawsuit.”
This development has sparked a variety of reactions online:
@espeezeal commented: “If this man withdraws the suit, he’s making a mistake. She needs to learn a lesson.”
@revelationrabbi said: “People need to resist the urge to post such recordings online. Even if recorded, sharing it is another matter.”
@IchiPrecious added: “She did it for her safety. If she pursues the case, she may win. Social media shouldn’t dictate legal outcomes.”
@Abangwu4 argued: “The lawsuit is frivolous and unlikely to succeed. N200 million is excessive, and she might even countersue.”
