Alex Unusual, a Big Brother Naija alumna, has spoken out against the disturbing video of students at Federal Government College, Enugu, brutally beating a classmate. She shared her personal experience of enduring similar abuse during her time at the same school.
“2011 and 2012 were the worst years of my life due to mass beating,” Alex revealed. “Watching this video triggered trauma I thought I had healed from.”
Alex emphasized that mass beating should have severe consequences, particularly in secondary schools. She recounted how she ensured no one suffered the same fate under her watch as a senior, never perpetrating the cycle of violence.
“This barbaric behavior is passed down like a tradition in federal government schools,” Alex stated. “Authorities are aware but haven’t stopped it. Good hurt people don’t hurt others; they protect them from pain.”
Alex’s powerful testimony highlights the long-lasting impact of such trauma and the need for accountability and reform in Nigeria’s educational system.
